As good as a away performance you will see that tonight coming away from Nelson with a 5-0 win.
Started the game well but then let Nelson back in and they had a glorious chance to take the lead with the number 9 being gifted a one v one opportunity but Josh Livo stood tall and made a cracking save.
Nelson bombarded us from set pieces and they seemed to have around ten in a short space of time (not sure if we was leading at this point) but the lads done well to see the threats out.
Going forward we was dangerous and Jamie Menagh backed up his performance from Saturday with another cracking goal which was followed up by another heavy whipped in delivery which Joe Lynch managed to flick home from cross range.
Lynchy grabbed his second not long after when some quality movement down the right was followed by some neat passes on the edge of the box and Mick Douglas seen his back heeled attempt saved well but Joe was on hand to smash it home for a three nil lead.
We was oozing quality and our passing and possession of the football was on point and one move of around 30 plus passes near seen us grab a fourth which would have capped a tremendous first half.
HT 3-0
Second half it was all about managing the game whilst looking to finish it of as a contest and once again our on point passing was causing Nelson all kinds of problems and down the right hand side we seen lads linking up very well indeed.
Down the right John Mcgrath & Liam Morris both had a hand in the impressive Matty Cornesss first goal for the club with all three lads linking up and after a neat touch inside the box to create a yard of space Matty smashed one home into the far corner to get the goal his impressive showing deserved on his first start in a Breck shirt.
Once again some lovely inter changing football down the right from Morris & Mcgrath seen Joe Lynch grab his hat trick goal to cap another great performance in front of goal from lynchy (we won’t mention his toilet break).
We looked to keep playing and creating but it was job more than well done on a soggy night in Nelson.
FT 5-0
One of them nights when it was a pleasure to watch the lads in full flow and the passing tonight on a tough pitch (due to it cutting up) was first class and exactly what was asked of them so all praise to the lads for delivering.
MOM was a few contender with Lee Hughes, Josh Livo and of course hat trick man Joe Lynch all having eye catching games but the vote went to Liam Morris who was absolutely outstanding at right back and after getting a early yellow card also he was rock solid and a massive threat in the final third with his passing and movement making it easier for others to follow.
As always massive appreciation to those who were permitted to be in attendance tonight your support as always is first class.
It’s a massive game on Saturday as we welcome Newton Aycliffe on the FA Vase.
For those looking for a footy fix then look no further as we look to get another good run going against a side a level above I’d in the pyramid.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck...
