Comfortable Night For The Breck...

Another cracking win tonight for the Breck on our travels as we beat a spirited AFC Darwen side four nil on there quality new 3G pitch.

The game started quite frantic and the opening exchanges seen the ball in the air far to much for my liking but soon as we got it down and played we looked dangerous against the high line of Darwen.

It took twenty minutes for us to get the opener with a little scramble in the box and Luke Duffy moved them quick feet off his to get the shot of and get us a deserved lead.
We was creating quality chances at will and it was lack of composure or that final decision letting us down but we kept on plugging away and just on the stroke of half time Ste Milne hit a absolute rasper looping over the keepers head (see video).

HT 2-0

We come out for the second half with the same purpose and Paul Mooney seen his feeekick hit the foot of the post before another great solo run from Louis Austin seen him get the goal his performance deserved firing one low and hard past a good Darwen keeper.

We didn’t wrap the game up till the 88th minute when Dean Shacklock took one in on the keeper and after seeing two attempts thwarted by the Darwen keeper he finished the third attempt off from close range.

FT 4-0

On another day were hitting another big score tonight but to come away from Darwen with a clean sheet on what was a big night for them this is a massive win and with a job lot of players missing and a little re jig of personal needed the lads stepped up once again.

MOM Tom Kinsella who was absolute quality tonight and in truth has been for the last 3 games.

Tonight though didn’t put one foot wrong and was at his very best in the new role he playing in.

A mention for Jack Ward from our under 18s who made his first team debut tonight and looked solid and composed in his half hour cameo (He even got booked for diving ).

Another quality player coming through the club.

And as alsways a massive thank you to our fans who followed us tonight who was there in great number for a midweek match in Darwen we can’t thank you all enough but we hope there 3pts made it all worthwhile .

It’s another biggun Saturday as we host Pilkington in the FA Vase up on Anfield Sports.

We Go Again.
