Ozzy Shines As Atherton Dispatched...

Another great 6-1 win tonight in a game we didn’t get going in for half hour.

A few changes from Saturday’s win with three lads coming in to keep us fresh in this busy run of games we’re facing.

In fairness we was a little flat to start the game and the new look Atherton LR side had there moments early on but soon as we raised the tempo we looked like we had that extra quality to kick on with.

The impressive Louis Austin picked the pocket of the right back and jinked into the box to cap a great solo goal.

Just on the stroke of halftime it was two nil with another training ground set piece working wonders as Mick Douglas nodded home a Jay Colbeck corner.

HT 2-0

It was Colbeck the provider once again into the second half when he floated a ball over the top to Ste Milne who lobbed it over the keeper and tapped in from close range.

Louis Austin got his second of the night and it was a hat trick of assists for Jay Colbeck threading one into the left channel for Ozzy who dispatched one from a tight angle.

A soft penalty was given away which was sent home emphatically before normal service was resumed when Jamie Henders tapped home after Dean Shacklock delivered it on a plate.

And the final goal was most pleasing with Bobby Walsh (Our gem from the youth team) came of the bench and bagged himself another first team goal with Dean Shack once again the provider.

FT 6-1

Another pleasing performance and one that showed the strength in depth we now have with the squad brimming with quality and lads who want to win football matches for this club.

The MOM vote went or Louis Austin who gave a performance of old when he was unplayable with the ball at feet and with that turn of pace you just can’t stop it.

A mention for Paul Mooney also who was a class act tonight.

It’s now on to the biggest day in the clubs history as we go into the FA Cup for the first time with away trip to Charnock Richard.

Can we pull of a shock cup win ?

We Go Again.
