BRECK BEAT EMLEY IN THE LEAGUE OPENER

A hard fought 3-1 win today with the lads putting in big shifts all over the park.

After a early point blank save from Josh Molloy it was totally control for the rest of the half and we played some quality football through the first 45.

Mick Douglas opened the scoring soon after Josh’s save with Ste Milne the provider with a lovely through ball which Mick put into the bottom corner.

To the delight of the coaching staff it was two nil within 15 mins after a well worked set piece reaped the reward with Mick Dougie powering home a header from a Luke Duffy corner.

Just after the restart it should have been three nil with Mick Dougie looking to have a simple tap in but got the connection all wrong.
Then just like that it was 2-1 with a Emley player pouncing on a defensive mistake and dispatching a cracking finish top bin.

A little shell shocked we looked to gain our composure but found ourselves struggling to get going again and that was only made worse with Luke Duffy seeing a red card for a strong tackle the referee deemed reckless (99.9% of the people there said it was a poor decision).

The lads had to dig deep and the duly done that with Ste Milne running the line on his own and the lads keeping a good shape behind.
It wasn’t till the 90th minute that we could finally relax and it was Ste Milne providing once again with a outstanding assist putting it on a plate for Conor Robbo to put the game to bed.

Delighted with that win today and especially after going down to men early on in the second half.

Most pleasing was the first half performance as the lads down to a T what we asked of them prior to the game.

Man Of The Match vote went to Ste Milne who put in a massive shift for 90 minutes and laid on two great goals with equally impressive assists proving his game is not all about his goals.

A great turnout today if 130+ we thank you all for coming along to support the lads the noise when the winner went on we quality and the lads commented on it also.
