Ashton Beaten 6-1 Infront Of A Record Crowd...

Another great win today beating Ashton Town 6-1 in what was another massive day for our club.

With 390 in attendance for the Groundhop Uk event we put on a good footballing performance infront of a record crowd for a Breck game.
After a frantic opening few minutes when we struggled to settle it was Ste Milne who got the games opener with Paul Mooney the provider Ste created a angle and looped one over the keeper who was a few steps to many of his line.

Our second seen Ste Milne linking up with Peter Mayo who found himself with only the keeper to beat and he done that with aplomb.
The goal of the day and a absolutely beautiful team goal it was with 20+ passes all over the park with the ball worked into the Ashton box and when it looked like Jamie Henders was going to smash one at goal he cut it back for Jay Colbeck to tap home capping of a quality quality move.

HT 3-0

Second half was more of the same with Ashton having some good possession but not hurting us and our 4th goal was the one that would kill the game of as a contest with Jamie Henders turning home a Tom Kinsella corner.

Our 5th & 6th came via two quality Ste Milne finishes as he sent the defender the shop for a snicker both times before smashing them home into the far corners.

A late consolation gift came for Ashton after we hit our 5th but the game was done and dusted prior to that.

FT 6-1
Another cracking win for the lads and on another important day for the club.

The MOM vote went to someone who’s performances have gone under he radar of late Paul Mooney.

Moonshine has been putting in a quality showing week in week out without getting the plaudits (due to other lads bagging there heads off) and today he was class yet again and rightly gets the vote.

A word for Ste Milne also who bagged another trick and his unselfish running of the line is a major asset for the side and throw in he gives us 110% every time he kits up what a signing he has been for the Breck.

A few words on the day itself.

With Groundhop UK joining our usual home support the day promised a big crowd and with 390 in attendance we certainly got that and the feedback we have had over on our twitter page has been nothing short of outstanding with one comment saying they was “Humbled and blessed at the hospitality shown by the Breck” which says it all really.

With the the fans supporting foodbank campaign also in attendance there feedback was also very positive praising the efforts made by all those that contributed with them going away with way more than they expected so massive thanks goes to all who helped us with there donations.

We also had local Labour MP Dan Carden in attendance for the first time and he was full of praise for what the club have done and what plans we have for moving forward and we thank Dan for taking the time to come along with his Dad in attendance also.

And last but not least we also had Alfie Lund in attendance who’s campaign we whole heartedly support with Alfie bringing some badges down for us as the fundraising continues to help support there campaign for the Alfie Lund Campaign.

With us running a fully licensed bar for the first time that couldn’t have went any better also and it was thanks to our army of volunteers that it went so well on the day.

Everyone of them done the club proud today and we can’t thank them all enough for playing there part in another positive day for the club.

Up next we welcome Holker OB to Anfield Sports next Saturday and hopefully we can see the attendance remain high for that game also.

We Go Again.
