On It From The Off...

Outstanding team performance from the Breck today beating the current league leaders Longridge Town 3-0.

From the first minute we was on the front foot and we pressed hard forcing them into mistakes and after pouncing on one we got the opening goal with Jamie Henders cutting one back for Connor Roberts to slot home with a neat finish.

We continued to press all over the park and even when Longridge were having any moments in the game they were only snap shots or half chances.

Just as they looked to build on some decent possession our pressing had another the desired effect as we won the ball back and Luke Duffy slipped a ball to Ste Milne to jink inside and he hit a trademark finish straight into the top bin.

HT 2-0

We asked for more of the same second half and for the majority of it we got it with the lads pressing forcing Longridge into mistakes all over the pitch and once again we broke on them after winning the ball and with a great knock down the channel Connor Roberts pulled one back for Mick Douglas to bend one in the low to the bottom right hand corner.

Longridge were awarded a penalty and there talisman Ritchie Alllen dragged it wide of the post a rarity for the leagues leading goalscorer.

We went down to 10 men not long after that with Mick Dougie adjudged to have took a swipe at the busy Jay Hart when both were battling for the ball.

A great save late on from Josh Molloy kept our clean sheet intact and we come away with a big big win.

FT 3-0

A outstanding team performance today and keeping out a team like Longridge who boast a potent front three is testament to the shifts the lads put in all over.

A long list for MOM contenders today but it was Jamie Henders who got the vote with a quality contribution once again and his two tackles in the first half typified our performance today.

Once again we was let down by a few lads not showing but once again those lads who have proved to be the core of the squad over the last four months stepped up once again (no cameo needed from the gaffer this week).

It’s two games over the Easter weekend for us as we travel to Daisy Hill next Saturday before a massive game bank holiday Monday when we host AFC Liverpool.

Apologies to those who wanted a pint today but a admin error on the clubs behalf prevented us from selling alcohol but you’ll be glad to no that’s been rectified and we be good to go for our remaining two home games of the season.

We Go Again.
