Another hard fought win today with the lads putting big shifts in all over to come away with a 4-2 win at home to Chadderton.
First half we dominated for large parts with Jamie Henders capitalising on a poor back pass to go one on one with the keeper a duel that Jamie won.
Our second seen a great ping from our keeper Josh Molloy find its way to Leon Arnasalam and Leon took it on on goal and beat the keeper with a great finish at the near post.
HT 2-0
Second half we came out way too flat and within a minute we was pegged back and that only got the nerves jangling and a little bit of negativity crept in to a few lads and we needed a spark to get us outta it and it was Ste Milne who delivered just that.
Ste picking a ball up and jinking inside a few players before unleashing a unstoppable strike to give us a two goal cushion once again.
But once again that lead was closed with another lapse in concentration seeing us punished but once again a moment of individual brilliance from Ste Milne got us the games eventual winner.
This time linking up with Tom Kinsella and Luke Duffy Ste got the ball and cut across two defenders before bending one over the keepers head into the top right corner a stunning finish that put paid to any hope of Chadderton getting back into the game.
FT 4-2
Another hard fought win coming on the back of a tough midweek game and with us low on numbers these last few weeks with Injury, work & suspension the lads have had to dig deep and today made it 7 wins 1 draw 1 defeat from the 9 league games so far in 2019 so we thank them all for there big shifts with bare bones thus far this year.
MOM contenders today was between Luke Duffy & Ste Milne with Luke causing havoc out on the wing throughout and once again his performance merited a goal but it was Ste Milne who got the vote for his work rate and two heavy heavy finishes (who knows were we would be in the title race if we had him back in August when we started our campaign).
Once again massive thanks to all in attendance it’s much appreciated.
We hope we can attract a bigger crowd for our next home game which is ground hop day on the 9th March.
With Liverpool away that day and with us being able to serve up a ice cold alcoholic refreshment for the very first time we hope that can help attract a few more locals out in support of there local semi pro club.
Before that it’s a trip to the seaside to face AFC Blackpool next week who will be looking to avenge a big defeat when we met just before the new year.
We Go Again.
