A great 3-1 win today at home to AFC Blackpool helped to lift the gloom after our Boxing Day performance.
Started positive and carved open two/three great chances with the Blackpool keeper saving well with his feet to deny Jamie Henders.
It was Hendo who got us off the mark pouncing on a mistake at the back and took it on the keeper and slotted home well.
It was two nil within a couple of minutes with Peter Moore playing a great ball for Mick Dougie who sent it goal wards and it trickled over the line thanks to Jamie Hendo beating the Blackpool defender to the ball (Mick Dougie claimed the goal).
Blackpool we’re looking dangerous with there direct approach and we’re unlucky not to get a goal also with there frontmen causing trouble throughout with the long keeper punts having the desired effect.
There goal was to come after some sloppy play at the back which resulted in a corner and with it being taken quickly a ball was sent in and headed home unmarked at the back post.
HT 2-1
Our opponents come out and gave us more of the same but we grew into the half and was playing some decent football and we got the killer 3rd goal after some neat play.
Peter Moore doing some quality work out wide and after a great run into the box he sent it across goal to the back post were Luke Duffy was hand to tap it home for his first Breck goal.
FT 3-1
A pleasing performance today as we got exactly want we asked of the lads.
Our football was played at the right times and the basics for large parts were done all over the park and that’s how we get the results in these tough games.
Man Of The Match today went to Peter Moore who was starting his first game in a Breck shirt and he put in a quality performance getting on the ball and looking to drive us from midfield.
2019 will start with a visit to Atherton LR which will begin a run of 7 games in January with 6 of them being away from home.
We Go Again.
