Disappointing and a lacklustre performance today going down 3-2 away at AFC Liverpool.
Started the game well and had two cracking chances in the opening five minutes both going begging.
We was then punished for a sloppy ball in the middle of our half with a ball being put straight into the path of the AFC winger who took one touch and struck it home.
We was looking way off the pace all over but we got ourselves back in the game with Ste Milne being brought down in the box up stepped Paul Mooney to dispatch the penalty.
HT 1-1
Second half too many lads didn’t turn up and we was second best all over and AFC took the lead not long after the restart.
After a few changes we got a equaliser with Paul Mooney floating a delightful ball to Peter Moore who sent home a cracking first time finish on his debut coming of the bench.
Once again the great work was undone by our own sloppiness when we have a throw in to build of but turn it over too easy and they went up the other end and we’re awarded a penalty which was slotted away.
We pushed for a equaliser and Luke Duffy had a shot well saved and then Jamie Henders blasted one wide from close range but the damage was done.
FT 3-2
We looked sluggish and way off the pace today and the Christmas excess was clearly evident but what’s tougher to take is we once again go away from home and put in another poor team performance.
You can’t afford for 7/8 lads to be way of the pace needed and expect to beat any side in this division and once again we fail to gain ground on the top two sides when they were both beaten also.
Good for us we’re back out on Saturday as we welcome AFC Blackpool to Anfield Sports.
Man of Match today was Luke Duffy who grew into the game and done some quality work with the ball.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck..
