An error strewn performance seen us beaten 3-1 at home to Mossley last night,
After a promising enough start Will McNulty played a ball across the pitch into the path of Mossley player and after a long ball forward caught us out after committing men to the attack Jacob was second best to the ball and it was tapped home.
A stunning save from the Mossley keeper prevented us from getting an equaliser where Elliott Hughes pounced on the second ball, we all thought it was in but the keepers strong hand low down produced a stunner.
Another mistake was punished with Sam Burns turning the ball over inside our half which presented Mossley with the chance to punish us which the duly did.
We were seeing shots blocked at the other end and other great chances from set pieces cleared away.
HT 0-2
Second Half we got the perfect response with an early go after just putting it on Mossley and pouncing on a mistake, the goal being given to Terence Miles, but Elliott Hughes was claiming it.
That delight was more than short-lived when on the edge of the Mossley box we gave away possession cheaply which enabled another counter-attack, and we were punished once again, another awful mistake when in possession of the football.
We pushed hard and seen chances from Will Lawson and Luke Gill go begging and that was that.
FT 1-3
No question we in a tough spell but when you don’t get the basics right and consistently turn over balls you simply can't, you're just going to put more pressure on yourself especially when you're facing teams who will run all day for their shirts.
The Probe Services MOM went to Elliott Hughes who isn’t in his best run of form but gave his all and spoke well in the dressing room also.
As always we thank those in attendance last night, and we hope to see you all again on Saturday when we host Chasetown as we look to get out of this little rut we have found ourselves in.
We Go Again.
