A dominant performance last night seen us beat Atherton Colls 6-1 who played 80 minutes with ten men.

We started the game very well with the ball in behind looking the key, and it proved to be decisive in the sending off when Luke Gill was put in on the left and after a little nip at him outside the box a bigger bite followed inside taking him clean out for a stone wall penalty, the red card was produced and the penalty was dispatched.

It’s always hard when a side goes down to ten men as some times players get giddy and do the wrong things but what followed from us was a composed and somehwat brutal 35 minutes with the ball and in front of goal.

After a minute of keep ball the impressive Connor Millington drove down the left-hand side and fed the ball to Luke Gill who had a lot to do but still found the bottom corner to make it two.

Number three quickly followed when Danny McKenna took a ball down and then delivered it for Gilly who managed to turn and spin to grab his hat trick.

Gilly didn’t settle for the three and after some more delightful keep ball Liam Morris delivered a quality high ball to the back post and somehow Gilly beat the biggest man on the pitch to power home another header.

Number five seen Jak McCourt finding Sam Burns bang down the middle of the pitch and the touch from Sam took him in on goal and he made no mistake.

The blight on the half was conceding just before half-time and Colls could have had two if it wasn't for a classy save from Joe Bickerstaffe.

HT 5-1

Second Half all credit to Colls who done there best to stifle us, and it wasn’t until the 80th minute we managed to grab our sixth goal when Jack Hont put a floated ball over for Burnsey and he finished with aplomb.

FT 6-1

A much-needed win and assured performance and yes against ten men for a large part but we have come unstuck against ten men a few times in the past so it was pleasing to see us manage it perfectly last night.

The Probe Services MOM went to Luke Gill who produced a brutal spell of finishing and now moves on to 14 goals for the season, a lad who get what it means to play for this club.

As always massive thanks to those attendance last night and we hope to see more of the same next week when we host the high flying Cables on Wednesday night in what promises to be a cracking game at the Anny.

We Go Again.
