Another away day when the performance lacked anything like what’s required for the best part, and we left the fight till it was too late and we fall to a 1-0 defeat.
First half nothing in the game, Paddy Kay having our best chance of the half after a great touch and shot was very well saved, but that’s as good as the half got as a spectacle.
HT 0-0
Second half with the brutal wind against us we didn’t do what Stafford had in first half and that’s dealt with it from the back, Theo seeing his goal kick come back towards him, and it was a tussle between him, Liam Morris and the Rangers frontman and he won the scuffle and scuffed one past two men on the line, another awful goal for us to concede on the road.
We had little moments, but it took till the introduction of five substitutes for us to really put Stafford under pressure and the keeper was forced into 5/6 very good saves but ones you expect him to make, Jordan Barrow having two of the best opportunities with his first time volley the best of them.
The chances came and went, and we let another one slip on the road.
FT 0-1
Once again we conceded a poor goal that leaves us to chase the game and with 5/6 lads way off the required standard (on the road) once again it’s not good viewing.
Yes we created some big chances and looked dangerous in the last ten minutes, but we expect that from this group of the lads from the off, and we have seen too many of these away performances individually and collectively in recent weeks on the road.
That said we ended the day in better shape than we went in and remain in the play-offs with two games to go.
The MOM went to Jordan Barrow who was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet and ran himself into the ground, plus he showed how to kick a ball into the wind…!!
As always backed by some cracking support, and we’re going to need that even more at home next Saturday afternoon when we welcome Newcastle Town to the Anny.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
