A tough afternoon yesterday falling to a 2-0 defeat away at Staylbridge Celtic.
We should have taken the lead when a Sam Burn’s shot was saved by the keeper but with the ball spinning close to the goal line the defenders' response was quicker than Bucko’s and the ball was smashed away.
Celtics opener came after indecision around there own box seen the ball won and moved over to the left and with the winger cutting inside way too easy ans then with the ball being cut back across, Coops was beaten by a good turn and sadly Paddy hands wasn’t strong enough to save it and its one he knows he has to do better with.
Celtic was reduced to ten men when their skipper received a second yellow for a dive in the box but as we have now seen on several occasions this season the lads struggle to break ten me down and it proved that way once again.
HT 0-1
A poor second half when Celtic had the better moments even with ten, and they got there second when a ball was turned over way too easy, and we were duly punished.
FT 0-2
I can’t hide my disappointment with what I have seen yesterday as we had lads offering very little and that may be because they have knocks or niggles, but the minimum requirement is giving your all and some certainly didn’t and that’s not something any manager likes to question or say.
A week is a long time in football but it’s one we need to forget about very quickly if we’re to keep our play off hopes alive with six massive games to go.
MOM went to Jay Cooper who had a solid first half winning the majority of his battles…
As always fantastic support on the road and that is never in question from our loyal following…
Up next we welcome Atherton Colls to the Anny as we look for a big response from the lads.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
