Big Shift Bot Sloppy Goal Costs Again...

Our third defeat in a week as we fell to a 1-0 defeat away at Darlaston Town.

A largely dominate first half see the Town keeper make 3/4 great saves with Nathan Corness a threat coming in from the left testing him on two occasions, a few more opportunities followed most clearing the bar and the keeper pulled off a cracking stop from a ricochet shot that came of the defender.

Darlaston has some moments, but Theo came outta the half untested.

HT 0-0

Second half that great first half was quickly undone from a corner with Lewis Buckley losing his man he headed home from six yards, a real frustration as we concede yet another poor goal.

It could have been two a few moments later when Theo was forced into two good excellent saves and then in fairness an absolute sitter was missed at the third attempt which kept us in the game.

We pushed hard for the equaliser, and we have seen shots from Buckley, Corness, Barrow, Murphy and a Sam Burns effort cracking the top of the crossbar but sadly we couldn’t find that goal to bring a point back with us.

FT 0-1

Given the condition of the pitch I thought we played very well in the first half but giving that goal away early in the second left us chasing the game, and it’s the last thing that’s needed on a heavy pitch and after the week we had.

It says it all about the start we have had that we remain top of the league after three defeats in week, but if were to remain there and in the promotion hunt we gotta put the month of January quickly behind us and go again.

The MOM went to Jordan Barrow who played outta his usual position and put in a big shift and with a nasty foot injury also.
Car, Coach, Train or Bus once again followed in great numbers, and we can’t thank you all enough.

Hats donned to Dean Gill and all at the club for their hospitality, kind words and above all respect, and we wish you all the very best for the remainder of the season.

Next up we welcome Runcorn Linnets to the Anny on Saturday afternoon and it’s fair to say it’s an huge game after recent results.
We Go Again.
