A disappointing defeat when we have conceded another four on the road again.
First half we were a threat throughout and got a deserved lead through Alex Chehera when a cracking Jordan Barrow ball slid Alex in, and he took care of the rest.
A poor goal followed with mistakes in the build up and with a shot being spilled from Theo it was a simple tap in, but a perfect response followed when a Sam Burns corner was headed home by Dan Lowey.
A strong and positive half with us causing Albion problems throughout and really we should have grabbed a few more goals.
HT 2-1
As we have seen on too many occasions now some lads don’t come out of the dressing room and despite having plenty attacking opportunities to increase the lead early in the second half we found ourselves 3-2 pretty quickly with both goals seeing poor mistakes in the build up.
The Witton keeper pulled off a stunning save to deny us and Lewis Buckley also seen a shot come back of the crossbar but with us pushing hard, the equaliser followed with Danny McKenna delivering a ball from the left and Bucko guided it home.
Another very good save from the Witton keeper followed from a Michael Fitzgerald strike but with the game looking like it would see a point shared another defensive mistake seen us let the number nine have a one on one situation with Theo, and he made no mistake to win the game for Witton with virtually last kick of the game.
FT 3-4
Fair to say we didn’t deserve to lose that game, but you can’t score three on the road and not get anything, but defensively we were poor second half with individual errors hurting us, but I always say defending starts from the front and if you give any team time and space to hurt you mistakes will follow when the pressure builds.
MOM was a tough call but for his cameo Danny McKenna gets the vote for his assist and endeavours when he came on.
Once again hats donned to those who travelled with us in great numbers and backed us all the way and after the final whistle still in good voice, quality as always folks…
Another tough away day Saturday afternoon as we travel to Trafford which will no doubt be another proper battle.
Please be advised the kick off is 2pm.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
