Barrow See's Red As Breck Take A Point Into The New Year...

A 1-1 draw with Bootle brings an end to our festive fixtures to wrap up an unbelievable 2025.

The first half seen Bootle come out the better side with there formation working well to stifle us and basically there hard graft without the ball, that said there goal came from a gift when a mistake in the middle from Jordan Barrow see him turn the ball over and Bootle countered and scored, the goal may have been offside but regardless we only had ourselves to blame.

That really was the only highlight of what was a competitive first half but with very little goal match action.

HT 0-1

Second half it was our turn to put Bootle under pressure and when we grabbed a scruffy goal back through Sam Burns there looked to be only one winner, Sam had a glorious chance moments later when Shay Callister kick put him in on goal but the Burnsey could keep his attempt down, he followed that up with a jinking run from the right but once again that final moment just want there.

Not long after we lost Jordan Barrow to a second yellow card which came after he was initially acting as a peacemaker after handbags in the middle of the park but the linesman seen something he didn’t like and Jordan received a second yellow., Lewis Buckley, Connor Millingron and a Bootle player also seeing yellows after the ding-dong.

Despite going down to ten men we were still the better side on the front foot and causing problems on both wings, but despite all the pressure and ffotball being olayed in the Bootle half we just couldn’t deliver that final ball to get the goal to go on and win it.

FT 1-1

Thought Bootle was very good first half, but we will be the one’s slightly more disappointed not to come away with more especially after a strong second half but still a point from a game you played 30 plus minutes with ten men you have got to take it and move onto the next one.
The MOM vote went to Frazer Cookson who was solid at the back, winning all his battles up against two very lively frontmen.

As always, a massive thanks to all in attendance last night, which was our biggest crowd of the season thus far, fantastic supoort for both clubs on a cold Tuesady night.

No game for us till a week Saturday when we travel to Wilton Albion for our first game of 2026.

To all our loyal supporters home & away and all those who support us from afar we thank you for your support throughout what’s been a pretty mind blowing 2025 for the club.

We wish you all the very best for the New Year and the very best of health.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…
