Another draw at home yesterday and another early goal conceded against a very good Clitheroe side in a game of very few chances.
As has been the pattern in recent weeks, we fell behind within five minutes of the kick-off when a ball to feet 50 years from goal somehow ran straight through and put the Clitheroe man in, and he made no mistake.
Chances were few for both sides with our best seeing Lewis Buckley forcing a decent save from the tall Clitheore keeper who tipped it over the bar and Bucko also had an attempt that was more than comfortable for the keeper.
HT 0-1
Second half we were more of as threat without really putting it on our opponents, but as always were kept digging in and got the rewards when Dan Lowey came onto a ricocheted ball and drilled one across the keeper, a cracking strike on a day his delivery wasn’t at his best.
Elliott Hughes had a great chance to win it but like Bucko’s in the first half it was a routine save for the keeper and down the other end Theo was forced into a big save also and coming on the back of a relatively quite game following the early goal its was a big moment and save from Theo.
FT 1-1
Unlike last week when we created enough to win three games, yesterday the cutting edge wasn’t there and both sides will have to be happy with a point from a game of little chances.
The Watch The Time MOM went to Callum Grogan who put in a solid defensive display on his first start in two months due to injury.
As always, a massive thank you to those in attendance on a damp afternoon at the Anny hope to see some of you on the road with us Tuesday night when we travel to in form Runcorn Linnets for a big NPL away day.
We Go Again.
