BRRECK RUE MISSED CHANCES BUT POINT TAKEN AT HOME TO TOWN

LOWER BRECK30 Nov - 14:59

On Another Day It Curtains...

Obviously a slightly disappointing 1-1 draw yesterday after dominating for large parts and missing a penalty with the very last kick of the game.

The game couldn’t have started any worse when a ball was pumped into the box and with Theo not coming to claim it, Frazer got brushed aside way to easy and when the ball came back into the box it was weak defending from us and a simple tap in followed.

A great response to that goal, seen Sam Burns, Lewis Buckley & MOM Alex Cherera all going close before we got the leveller
A long throw in from Michael Fitzgerald was headed on by Jordan Barrow and with the ball going away from goal Elliott Hughes took a touch that enabled him to turn on it, and he sent home a low floated finish into the far comer.

We pushed hard for a second, but we went in all square at the break.

HT 1-1
The first twenty minutes of the half there wasn’t much to shout about, but the last twenty plus added was as one-sided you will see this season, and how we haven’t scored is beyond me.

Sam Burns driving in one v one was prevented with a last ditch challenge, Sam also had an opportunity on the left, but it was one touch too many and his angle was closed.

Some bizarre officiating seen Sam pulled back for a further two one v one opportunity’s and a Town player had to see a second yellow for a strong mistimed tackle, but the ref thought otherwise despite giving the foul (not their best day it has to be said).

Jordan Barrow had an unbelievable opportunity with the goal gaping, but he got up to early and the ball came and the top of his head and over, it was many bodies on the line from Shifnal with two or three blocks on quick succession and as we hit the 95th minute one of those last ditch blocks was misjudged and Lewis Buckley was brought down for a penalty.

Up stepped Bucko who put it at a great height for the keeper and the whistle went instantly.

FT 2-1

Off course when you dominate and then miss the opportunity to take all three points late on from the spot you're going to be deflated, but that disappointment can't gloss over what's been a very good month for us, and we still sit top of the table going into the holiday period.
The Watch The Time MOM went to Alex Cherera who was a massive threat throughout the game and should have got himself on the scoresheet.

As always a massive thank you those in attendance great vocal support for the lads once again ans great to see a good turnout for Shifnal also and how good is it to see another newly promoted side flying high with us.

Up next we travel to Prescot Cables in the LCFA Senior Cup on Tuesday night, we hope you can come join us.
