BURNS GOES TO TOWN IN NANTWICH

LOWER BRECK2 Nov - 19:37

Excellent Team Performance And Another Memorable Away Day...

Another excellent away performance seen us beat Nantwich Town 4-1 on the road.

For 40 minutes in the first half it’s fair to say we were outstanding in all departments, Yes town had an early opportunity with Theo called into action but from that we were on the front foot and looking dangerous with every attack with the spaces offered exploited well.

We got the opening goal after a lovely ball from Jesse Dowling put Sam Burns in and an unselfish cut back seen Lewis Buckley tap home from close range.

Sam Burns was in the mood and had two great opportunities with one move seeing Sam going close from distance, it wasn’t long before he was rewarded with his first of the day, a long ball from Dan Lowey into the path of Lewis Buckley who turned provider for Sam who made no mistake this time around.

A five-minute spell of under hit passes seen us gift Town the ball and after one under hit Frazer Cookson ball we were finally punished for the sloppiness, a poor goal to concede on the stroke of half-time and another under hit ball followed which gave Nantwich another opportunity, but we have seen it out and got us in the changing room just at the right time.

HT 2-1

A few words at half-time to remind the lads of how good the half was despite the late setback and to go back out and stamp their authority on the game once more, and they have certainly done that.

Sam Burns driving forward hitting a cracking strike from just outside the box, dipping and curling away from the keeper, the perfect town for us to get a two goal lead back.

Game management was once again excellent and the introduction of the lads from the bench gave us another lift, and it was Elliot Hughes who provided the killer ball for the killer goal, putting through a delightful ball for Sam Burns to take in his stride and finish off his hat trick.

A double save from Theo Roberts late on helped us to a perfect second half performance and another cracking win on the road.

FT 4-1

Against a side unbeaten in twelve games at home, that was another away performance to be proud off, and once again all credit to the lads for delivering.

That squad of the 16 yesterday contained 14 lads who was in the play off final side which shows you don’t need wholesale changes to be able to step up a level and indeed compete.

The Watch The Time MOM went to Sam Burns who played on the front foot, let his shots go early and got his rewards with a hat trick.
Many more stand out performances also but thought Dan Lowey was excellent and looked back to his best.

Yet again we was backed by great numbers on the road, vocal throughout and rewarded with another excellent showing from the boys.

Next up we welcome Stalybridge Celtic to the Anny on Saturday afternoon as we look for another big performance and three points.

We Go Again.
