Delighted with the performance yesterday, beating Sporting Khalsa 3-0 in a dominant showing.
Got off to an excellent start after six minutes when Sam Burns intercepted a back pass and just as it looked to have broken down with Sam hitting the ground Lewis Buckley was on hand to take over and after shifting the ball onto his left foot he smashed home a cracking strike.
It wasn’t long before we made it two when Bucko turned provider for Burns , Bucko chesting down a ball into the path of Sam, and after Sam created a few years for himself he unleashed a stunning strike which left the sporting keeper with no chance.
If I listed all the chances we were creating we would be here a long time, but it’s fair to say Alex Cherera was running riot and on another day could have scored five or six, his closet effort seen the ball come back of both posts to deny him a deserved goal but that said what a thrilling first half performance from Alex.
HT 2-0
The second half was all about game management with us having the brutal wind in our faces, but we did manage to get a third, and a cracking team goal it was.
Liam Morris threw a back heel in the middle of the park to Connor Millo who in turn laid it off to Bucko who then returned it to Morris who sent a delightful ball forward to Cherera, Alex took the ball down in his stride and slotted home comfortably for his 10th goal this season.
Not much goalmouth action followed, but the game management was spot on, and it was a comfortable win in testing weather conditions.
FT 3-0
It was important we put in a confident performance yesterday and, equally important we got back to being an attacking threat going forward and one that keeps the door shut behind that also.
The Watch The Time MOM went to Alex Cherera who was unplayable and as said, could have grabbed five or six goals on another day, an excellent direct attacking performance from Al.
A mention for Liam Morris & Frazer Cookson who I thought were outstanding also.
As always, a massive thank you to those in attendance on a horrible afternoon to watch footy with that wind, great support nevertheless.
Next up we begin a massive month of November with a visit to Nantwich Town as we look to build on the impressive start to the season we have had, we hope you can come join us…
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
