A very good performance seen us get back to winning ways last night, beating Trafford 2-0.

On the front foot from the first minute, and we moved the ball around with intent and with Alex Cherera back to his brilliant best we were looking dangerous with every attack.

We had to be patient though, with plenty of chances not being taken, with Harry McGee having the very best of them when he ski-ed a effort after great work from Alex out on the right (a bobble was blamed).

Our patience was finally rewarded in the 40th minute when Dan Lowey shifted the ball to Tom Croughan down the left-hand side and when TC’s cut back found Sam Burns, he took a touch to create a yard for himself and slotted home to give us a more than deserved lead going in at the break

The second half was similar to the first with our attacking four all causing problems and all could and should have been on the scoresheet, but hence you don’t take your chances you give the opposition belief and Trafford certainly did that on the back of us not killing the game off.

One ball was flashed across the box before their best opportunity seen the ball cannon back of the outside of the post, a let off for the lads but one we certainly deserved and from it, we went again and managed to get that killer second goal.

With Trafford coming out through the middle outstanding work from Sam Burns seen him somehow win the ball back after picking himself up of the floor, eventually the ball was moved over to the left for the impressive Tom Croughan and his cut back found Harry McGee who took the chance on and slotted home.

We pushed for a third to wrap it up with Alex & Millo having efforts, but it was job well done and back to winning ways.

A pleasing performance, and we looked back to our best at times with some of the football really good on the eye, could have scored a few more to settle any nerves, but it’s a job well done and another clean sheet.

The Watch The Time MOM went to Tom Croughan who had his first start since the play off final back in May and to put that shift in for 90+ minutes and grab himself a brace of assists shows you exactly what we have brought back into the squad and just at the right time also…

Alex Cherera also deserves a mention for his performance, constantly getting at his man and beating him time after time, a much sharper performance from Al.
