Frustrating But Lessons Will Be Learnt...

A frustrating afternoon at home to Darlaston Town, but a point taken which isn’t to be scoffed at in this division.

Got off to a flying start when a Sam Burns free kick was sent over and the curl on it beat everyone and nestled in the far comer.

We were having all the joy down the left-hand side, with Alex Cherera having some glorious opportunities to extend that

We were turning the ball over very cheaply, and it was from one of those balls Town got there equaliser when Alex sent a ball across the pitch to Jesse Dowling and with the ball not making it Town had a good little bit of possession and from it a cross came over from the left and was nodded home, a very poor goal to concede.

HT 1-1

The second half started sloppy and that was the theme of the half with us not being careful with the ball which in turn built up the frustrations.
We kept going and thought we had an equaliser when Tom Croughan headed home at the back post from a Sam Burs cross, but that was ruled out for offside.

Darlaston didn’t offer much in the second half and sat in for the majority looking to hit us on the counter and their plan near reaped its rewards when Theo had to produce a great save late on in a one v one situation.

We kept going to the end searching for the winner, but it wasn’t to be, and we take point from a frustrating afternoon.

FT 1-1

As said a point is not to be scoffed at in this division you only have to look at other results yesterday but still we have to better in possession and when the opportunity’s come punish the team off.

One positive statistic to take from the game is us now going a year unbeaten at home in league & cup competitions, which is certainly no mean feat at any level of football, that’s for sure.

The Watch The Time MOM went to Sam Burns, his goal being the best moment of the match for us, but his hunger without the ball was positive also.

As always a massive thank you to those in attendance, your support as always is greatly appreciated and we hope to see you all on Wednesday night when we host Trafford.

We Go Again.
