Sadly, our first defeat of the season yesterday, going down 1-0 away at Chasetown.
Our hosts got the opener after 15 minutes when a deep free kick was sent to the back post and with it not being dealt with the ball was put back across for a simple tap in.
The issues surrounding the goal was the linesman who was manning our half of the pitch was talking to the away dugout when the free kick was taken and found himself 40 plus yards out of position, he tried to alert the referee (via the buzzer on his flag), but he was ignored, a mistake certainly made (referee agreed post game) but still that’s not how the ball ended up in the net.
From then on it was all Breck for opportunities, but there wasn’t many.
Sam Burns, the highlight of the first half, dancing past 4/5 men, but his shot trickled wide.
HT 0-1
Second half like the majority of the first with ourselves huffing a puffing putting the ball in good areas once or twice but not testing the Town keeper and same goes for Theo who had nothing to do himself.
Our best moments seen Sam Burns bare down on goal and with players to his left and right he smashed a shot over the bar, a cracking ball from Liam Morris across the face of goal should have resulted in a tap in but no one took the gamble to get there for a certain goal
That was really as good as it got, and it was a pretty poor game of football to see our unbeaten run come to an end.
FT 0-1
We were always going to lose a game of football in the league this season, and we were always going to have an off day (it won’t be the last) but we were way off it for me in certain areas and when you have 5/6 lads below there best and also showing there frustrations then you can sense it’s going to be one of those days,
But in the lad's defence, to be sitting top of the League after the opening two months of the season we have to be delighted with that start and look to kick back on when we’re next in league action.
The Watch The Time MOM went to Sam Burns who done all he could to get us back in the game but unfortunately could produce one of those moments…
As always a tremendous away following with us and vocal throughout even after that defeat, thanks to all…
Up next it’s another away day (6th on the spin) as we go to Stockton Town in the FA Trophy, as tough as it gets but one we will be going to win with a sold out supporters coach on the road with us once again.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…
