Late Falloh Goal Sinks The Green Army...

Another gutsy away performance last night as we come away from Burscough with a 2-1 win and all three points.

First ten minutes we were well on top with Fitzy and Bucko having chances but against the run of play Owen Collinge turned the ball over too easy just inside the Burscough half and after the next forward pass cut us open, the lively winger cut one back for the number ten to tap home.

There was a positive reaction from us, but chances started to wasted with Bucko missing an open goal when gifted the ball via the Burscough keeper.

The lads were getting a little frustrated and even though dominant in the middle of the park when we turned it over we were being picked off by the long ball and we also needed a truly stunning save from Theo to prevent us from going two nil down.

Just on the stroke of half-time we got the goal I’d say we deserved, and it was a whipped in corner from Tom Douglas being met by the head of Frazer Cookson for his first Breck goal.

HT 1-1

A few honest words at half-time followed and the lads reacted positively, but we were still a little too wasteful in the final third and invited the counter, but we were offered the perfect chance to take the lead from the penalty spot, ex Breck player Harry Cannon Noren being penalised for a handball, unfortunately for us Jesse Dowling seen his penalty saved, and it was an opportunity throw away.

With the game opening up we kept pushing and with the introduction of four substitutes, the fresh legs had the desired effect, and it was one of those subs, Morgan Falloh who got us the winner.

With the ball being worked from right to left, Jordan Barrow put the ball into the path of Morgs, and he sent home a cracking, composed finish back across the keeper.

Burscough got themselves two free kicks in dangerous areas late on, but both were wasted and we seen out the game for another massive away win.

FT 2-1

Not a vintage performance by any stretch but the lads knew three points was a must last night and delivered once again, we keep saying it, but we have a real good group with us this year, and they have the hunger and desire to deliver what’s being asked of them.

The McNamara’s Sports Bar Man Of The Match went to Jordan Barrow who was class once again, Baz had been a contender for MOM vote each and every game and that tells you his consistent level of performance…

A massive thank you to those who followed us once again, five away from the first six games is a tough schedule for the anyone so to see the same faces on the road with us is first class and we’re glad to be rewarding it with these results.

You guessed it another away day on Saturday as we go to Ramsbottom for our fourth away day in the spin, let’s hope we can keep this run going and you can come join us once again.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…
