RAMMY BLANKED AS BRECK RAMP UP THE RACE

LOWER BRECK17 Jan - 17:30

Like A Scarecrow In A Field...Outstanding

An outstanding team performance from the lads yesterday to beat the league leaders (before kick off) Ramsbottom 3-0.

From the first minute we were on the front foot and pressing Rammy all over the pitch, Connor Millington & Liam Morris were winning the midfield battles and the rest of the lads followed their lead.

We got the all important first goal in the 18th minute when Liam Morris produced some quality work out on the right-hand side and after delivering a ball for Tom Croughan, TC’s touch and finish was exceptional and gave us the lead we deserved.

The lads stayed on the front foot, and it was more great work from Liam Morris that seen his knock down find Sam Burns and his delightful touch put in Jesse Dowling who smashed home a stunning finish to give us a two goal lead.

Theo was called into action for the first time in the game when the Rammy 11 created a yard of space, and he brought the best out of Theodore, who produced a top draw save to keep the two goal lead intact.

HT 2-0

A change of formation for Rammy seen them revert back to their usual formation but once again we were all over them and didn’t let them create anything of note and going into the last quarter of the game we got the killer third goal from the penalty spot.

Dan Lowey received the ball ten yards from his own touchline and after jinking past two men and laying of the ball he continued his run up the pitch, Elliot Hughes took a touch before finding Lowey who went to the touchline sending over another one of his quality deliveries which was met by Sam Burns who seen his goal bound effort hand balled on the line, Red Card, Penalty and Sam Burns dispatched it.

Rammy pushed forward and got in good areas without testing Theo, and we were also looking dangerous on the break, but the score stayed the same, and it was a job well and truly done.

FT 3-0

You rarely have days in football when you don’t pick the bones out of something after the final whistle, but yesterday’s performance for me was faultless and as a manger I got exactly what I asked for pre game, it was an exceptional performance all over.

The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Connor Millington who put in a skipper’s performance from minute one.

As always a massive thank you to those in attendance yesterday, a great atmosphere for the game and felt by all the lads, repeat performance on Thursday night needed as we welcome Pilkington 8pm Kick Off.

We Go Again.
