First Clean Sheet Of The Season And Another Strong Performance...

The perfect way to bounce back yesterday beating Squires Gate 3-0 and in truth it really should have been many more.

Straight from the kick off the lads were dominant and forced the Squires keeper into two strong early saves whilst missing two big chances all within the first eight minutes.

We got the deserved opener before the ten-minute mark, Connor Millington feeding Jesse Dowling who floated home his 4th goal of the season.

It was a case of tally up the missed chances for the remainder of the half, Lewis Buckley, Tom Croughan, Tom Douglas and Jesse all having glorious opportunities to extend our lead, Bucko having at least five that on another day he slots comfortably.

HT 1-0

While being frustrated with not having a bigger lead at the break, we gave the lads a little reminder to make sure we didn’t let Gate punish us at any point, and they came right back out and put them straight under pressure once again, yes we seen big opportunities go begging once again , but we kept going and got the killer second goal via a deflection from a quick corner.

Jesse laid it off to Bucko and his cross was somehow deflected in, the was Lewis’s day had gone, he would happily take that one.

The final goal seen Ethan Devine thread a lovely ball through for Owen Collinge and Codge made no mistake from close range to wrap the game up.

FT 3-0

As stated, the perfect response, performance in bouncing straight back from Saturday's disappointment and to keep a clean sheet also is very pleasing.

The McNamara’s Sports Bar MOM went to Frazer Cookson who didn’t put a foot wrong going up against a very good frontman in Dean Ings, a faultless performance from Frazer.

Also a mention for Tom Croughan who was only missing a goal or two from his unselfish performance, his energy and hunger set the tone amd others certainly followed.

As always thank you to all those in attendance, a very good crowd for Bank Holiday Monday and your support as always is greatly appreciated.

Up next it’s Friday night football away as we face Chadderton at Avro’s ground, be great to see a few more on the road with us for what is a big game to end what’s been a great opening month to the season.

We Go Again.
