BRECK LEAVE IT LATE BUT ANOTHER GREAT WIN

LOWER BRECK24 Apr - 21:06

Last Dance At The Anny This Campaign...

Some finish to our last home game of the season beating play off bound Padiham with a 96th minute winner from Shay Stansfield.
Similar to last week we didn’t really get going first half, affording our opponents too much space all over, but that being said we managed to grab the opening goal just before half time.

A set piece delivery from Tom Douglas found the head of Tom Mitchell and with header nodded back across goal his centre half partner Josh Dobie was on hand to send it home into the roof of the net.

We had a glorious chance to make it two before the half time whistle came with Lewis Buckley finding himself in a great position but unlike Bucko he got it all wrong and scuffed his chance well wide.

HT 1-0

Second half was similar to the first with both side trying to gain control, Padiham had the better chances with Theo being called into action for what was routine saves for him, but they still needed to be made.

Padiham were awarded a penalty on 70 minutes with Yao Evra adjudged to have pushed the player in the back before coming away with the ball, Theo was sent the wrong way and it was 1-1.

The perfect response came with Lewis Buckley having another glorious opportunity to give us the lead but once again Bucko could only scuff his effort which was deflected wide for a corner.
Yao Evra then had a great chance to make amends for the penalty incident but when he had to either shoot or square the ball for a tap in he chose to round the keeper and was duly thwarted.

The perfect ending to our Home game campaign for this season seem us grab a winner in the 96th minute.

Tom Douglas finding himself out of position on the left hand side received the ball and after creating a few yards of space, he hit a cracking strike which was matched by a stunning finger tip save but with the ball then cannoning back of the inside of the post Shay Stansfield was on hand to tap home the winner, what a way to win it.

FT 2-1

Some ending to the game, wrapping up a great run of home form with only one league defeat at the Anny since November returning the Anny back to a har place to visit which it had been previously for many a year.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Theo Robert’s who has said made some routine saves for his standard but they had to be made and he was solid once again for us when needed…, Tom Mitchell also deserving of a mention for his performance at centre half, rock solid throughout.

A mention for those who travelled in great numbers from Padiham and made it a great occasion which was amplified when they found out they had secured a play off place despite defeat, we wish them all the very best in the semi final next week.

What can we say about our loyal support who have backed us all year round once again, home & away they travel in good numbers spending hard earned money to come and support the club and this seaosn especially it’s really be appreciated and respected by the lads in the dressing room who really do take onboard what the supporters do week in week out to get behind us, next season we all hope it can be rewarded with the promotion push you all deserve.

Next week we travel over to the Isle Of Man to end the season and with a position in the table up for grabs it’s another must win game to make sure we end this season in cracking from ready for the next. (must be mad to say it)

We Go Again.
