Straight back to winning ways yesterday beating Glossop North End 2-1.
Took the lead inside six minutes when two home debutantes combined.
Tom Douglas whipping in a cracking corner which was met by an equally cracking header from Tom Mitchell.
A few good moments follow with Lewis Buckley, Tom Douglas, James Murphy all have opportunities to extend the lead further.
A sin bin for the Glossop number 10 was the next highlight of the half and that was upgraded to a red card as he continued his verbal with the match official.
The rest of the half was rather dull with us not using the extra man to any effect.
After some good possession to start the second half it was Glossop who got themselves a equaliser, with the play coming down the right, a shot was blocked/parried away and the rebound was followed up.
The goal gave us a jolt and it woke a few players up and it wasn’t long before we was back in front.
A top draw ball whipped in from Bobby Walsh and after Lewis Buckley took a touch to set himself, he sent home another tidy finish to grab his 10th goal in 11 games in a Breck shirt.
We introduced all five substitutes to give us some much needed freshness with Cam Rooney & Tom McNamara having the better moments of those introduced.
A late rally from Glossop seen Theo called into action with a great save down his throat and when they sent the keeper up for a set piece he near had his moment of glory with the ball falling to his feet but he could only scuff his chance.
The best thing about yesterday was to bounce straight back to the midweek defeat as the lads had beat themselves up over that and you could see that in our performance and with heavy legs also playing there part it was a tough day, but 3pts bagged and now we climb upto 6th which is our highest position since entering step five.
Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Michael Fitzgerald, another rock steady performance from Fitzy and there is non more consistent than him week in week out.
As always a massive thank you to those in attendance your support as always is appreciated…????
A busy week to come as we travel to Cheadle Town on Tuesday night before hosting Colne on Friday night at the Anny.
We hope you can join us once again.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…❤️
