A fantastic away performance yesterday winning 2-1 away at Glossop NE on a very tricky pitch due to the amount of rain we have had.
Another good start to the game from ourselves seen us straight on the front foot and despite a few moments when lads lost there footing we was lookiing relatively solid.
A few half chances came and went before we took the lead from the penalty spot with Paul Mooney whipping one in after Shay Stansfield was fouled, no mistake from Moonshine.
Injury struck again as we had to replace Jamie Timlin but Jordan Shannon came on and got himself right upto the speed of the game and with some nice touches also.
It was all square on 26 minutes when a shot from the number 8 was deflected of another glossop player (am told) and they was back in the game but not for long.
A clipped in Moonshine freekick was headed down by Josh Dobie and on hand to knock it home was Jordan Shannon.
A outstanding save from the Glossop keeper kept us from going further infront.
Second half we seen a Paul Mooney freekick crash of the bar, Shay Stansfield drove one over and down the left hand side we was linking up very well, down the other end a block from Mooney was all i can remember from NE and even when we went down to ten men with Shay getting a second yellow there wasn’t no onslaught and we seen the game out.
Another great away win and done with the side missing so many players and losing another to injury early doors but the lads stepped up and grabbed a much needed win after three league draws on the spin.
Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Paul Mooney who was rock solid at center half and led us through the game once again with a skipper’s performance. ????
Josh Dobie & Jordan Shannon both standin out with there performances also…??
Tremendous support for us once again yesterday and great to see everyone at the end enjoying the win just as much as the players, a credit to the club you certainly is…????
Next up its AFC Liverpool on Thursday night down at the Anny as we look to keep this run going, gates been a little low of late with the weather not being great but once again we could do with our local support to get there and get right behind us a we look to keep climbing the table towards them play off positions.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…❤️
