Didn’t get going tonight beaten 2-1 by Vauxhall Motors in a game lacking any real quality.
Got of to a flyer with Johno Swatton smashing home after a neat Ste Milne back heal and MJ once again had defenders scrambling but he seen his chance flash across the face of goal.
Motors was getting joy from set pieces with one ruled offside for a push on Josh but in truth neither keeper made any saves of note first half.
HT 1-0
Second half we started sloppy and it gave Motors the incentive to push on and with there equalizer being a tame effort there winner was also poor from our point of view as we stood way of the Vauxhall number nine and he sent one deflected past Josh.
We had a minor response with Ryan Beigan having a few efforts before he assisted Kieran Holsgrove for our best chance to take a point but his bullet header went creeping past the post.
FT 1-2
So not the greatest game it has to be said but if you win you take it and all credit to Motors they was the better side for me on the night.
MOM went to Swatton on his return with his first half performance being strong and grabbing that goal also helped the vote, We thank Montage Memorabilia for the award sponsorship.
A cracking turnout also for our first league game back at the Anny and we hope to see a few of you back on Saturday afternoon as we have the small matter of the FA Cup against Penistone Church to bounce back to.
One sour note were aware of youths making a nuisance of themselves at the far of end of the ground and we will speak with the staff and management down at the Anny to ask why this wasn’t dealt with instantly.
We can only apologie to anyone offended by there actions.
We Go Again.
