Back to winning ways in what was a largely composed performance winning 5-1 against a good young Thornaby side.

We started the game very well but it was just that final ball alluding us in the final third, Sam Burns has two great chances to give us the lead been seen both efforts twarted by the keeper.

Our first two goals came from the penalty spot with Alex Cherera & Sam Burns being brought down, Luke Gill comfortably stepped up and slotted both home.

We should have put a few more away but just that final ball was letting us down but a largely dominant first half.

We started the half well and when Sam Burns made it three after a delightful Lucas Wilson ball it looked like we were going to run away with it but after Alex Cherera missed a one on one opportunity Thornaby sent a long ball forward and it was 3-1.

A few nervy moments followed but once we got back to basics the game was finally wrapped up with Sam Burns killing the game off assisted by Alex & Jackson for goals 4 & 5.

A mention for Alex Brown also who produced two stunning saves in either half and should have had another clean sheet.

All about the win yesterday however way it came and whilst playing some decent enough football we know we can be much better and will need to be in what’s going to be a testing schedule in the next few months.

The Probe Service MOM went to Sam Burns who bagged a hat trick and is slowly getting himself back up to the levels we know he can produce.
