We got off to a flyer with a goal within the first minute, Alex Cherera finding Luke Gill who from a tight angle slotted comfortably under the keeper.

We had plenty of possession and were looking comfortable with it, but that proved our undoing when a Jak McCourt ball to Bohan Dixon was intercepted and Villa took the gift to make it 1-1.

A quick reply followed and after a Lucas Wilson ball found Luke Gill, he swivelled in the box but seen his shot come crashing back off the post, luckily for us, it fell to Alex Cherera who made no mistake from close range.

Number three quickly followed with Sam Burns delivering a ball to Gilly who seen his first attempt well saved, but he made no mistake with the follow-up, 4 goals in 3 starts for the impressive Gilly.

A comfortable half but Euxton certainly had their moments.

HT 3-1

Second half was similar to the first but as the game opened up we gave the ball up way too cheaply and let Villa have some more very good opportunities, Alex Brown being forced into 2/3 very good saves.

A late Villa goal put a slight damper on the final scoreline and whilst respectfully knowing we had more gears to go through you can never let a good side into any game and it’s a lesson we will take away as we go into the hat for the next round.

FT 3-2

Some nice football played at times, but we know we can be so much better,but on the back of a tough week for not only myself the lads have taken on a lot pressure also so to come away with back to back wins with bare bones we gotta be more than happy.

The Probe Services MOM went to Billy Edmondson who once again showed his qualities in the middle of the pitch and as the game went on he grew also.

A worthy mention for Luke Gill, Liam Morris & Alex Brown who put in impressive displays.

What can I say about the fantastic support show once again yesterday, another emotional day for all, and I can’t be any prouder of everyone associated with the football club, you have certainly done my dad proud this week, thank you.

No rest for the lads as we now travel to Runcorn Linnets on Tuesday night.

Hopefully we can get one or two in to bolster the squad ahead of another gruelling week of football.
