Another great win on the road winning 2-0 away at Pontefract Collieries in the FA Trophy.
First half we forced the Colls keeper into a stunning reflex save, but that’s as good as it got for any decent attempt for either side, it wasn’t a bad half by any means, just a little forward too early when we did have possession.
HT 0-0
Second half we came out strong with a few chances going close Sam Burns the best of them.
The first goal came from a well worked freekick, Dan Lowey finding the feet of Lewis Buckley and Bucko shifted it onto his right foot, the shot too strong for the Colls keeper, great goal.
Pontefract grew into the game and on the back of five substitutions they had a very good spell with the left-winger a constant threat, but we dealt with all that was coming our way and after seeing out their pressure we got the killer goal late in.
A kick up the field from Greg Hall who was deputising for Theo in goal seen Bucko tussle for the ball which allowed Sam Burns to take it in his stride, he drifted over to the right-hand side and sent a shot across the keeper, great finish from Samson.
A stunning save from Greg Hall late on secured another clean sheet, and we go into the hat for this afternoon's draw.
The only disappointment from the game seen me receive a red card for rolling the ball to our player (5-10 yards) when I thought we what won the throw in, even if it wasn’t our ball the ball goes near to the exact position it went out, sadly the man in the middle said I was delaying the restart, and it’s a red card offence for technical area occupants (madness).
FT 2-0
A tough away day but one I always felt we had another gear to go in and the lads done that in the second half,
Back to back clean sheets tell you how hard the group is working for each other also so all credit to the lads.
The Watch The Time MOM went to Jordan Barrow who was once again a battering ram in the middle of the park and righty got the vote for another strong performance.
As always a massive thank you to all those who travelled with us on a Sunday afternoon to Yorkshire , great support once again folks.
We go on our travels again next Saturday as we pay a visit to Clitheroe for what promises to be another tough game on the road.
We hope you can join us.
