Culshaw Brace And Big Bollocks From The Rest...

A unbelievable performance from the lads today and all associated with the club also making today one of those special days.

It was always going to be a tough day against a quality Sheldon side and they started the better hitting the post within five minutes and having another great chance soon after.

We started to settle with Ste Milne causing them issues but it was Sheldon who got the games first goal after a quick counter attack breaking from our corner.

It was poor from us as we usually set up well on set pieces but with a man being held of they broke with real conviction and it was a good finish across goal with Josh Molloy being wrong footed.

It was end to end for the remainder of the half and we was happy to go in with only the small deficit to try over turn when we came back out.

HT 1-0

The lads went out for the second half knowing a little bit more composure and belief in the final third would see us get back in the game and did we do just that in a manic few minutes.

The returning Conor Roberts put Mitchell Culshaw through and he went in one v one with the keeper and after rounding him slotted home comfortably and before you could blink it was comeback well and truly complete as we went infront.

The majestic Ste Milne beating his man out on the left hand side and delivering a great ball for Mitchell Culshaw at the back post with Mitch heading it into the wet ground and with the spin on the ball beating the man on the line (Raptures).

It was set up for a grandstand 30 minutes and we had to withstand some quality delivery into our box as Shildon sent ball after ball in but the lads dug deep and managed the game brilliantly late on and we hung on for a truly massive massive win.

FT 2-1

After back too back defeats and raft of injuries to key personnel this was always going to be a tough day for the lads and man for man they stood up tall for the cause.

With two lads starting there first game in eight weeks it tells you how down to bare bones we was so to pull of what is a massive cup upset against the bookmakers 3rd favourites for the cup it’s a epic win and another memorable one for the club.

Making the 4 hour round trip on Wednesday night to watch Sheldon certainly reaped it’s rewards today.

Massive thanks to all from Sheldon for bringing big numbers down today and drinking the Breck Bar dry.

A very knowledgeable club with some cracking fans.

MOM Some outstanding performances but Johno Swatton picked up the MoM vote for his body on the line showing with some quality last ditch blocks coming up against a very good winger also.

Ste Milne also put in a performance that warrants a mention leading the line and putting major graft in.

Lastly thank you to all in attendance once again the noise you made when the second went in was felt by us all and it’s that type of support that lifts the lads in them tough moments.

A mention for our volunteers today also who put in some graft to make sure the whole day ran smoothly.

Next up it Maine Road at home in the Macron Cup next Saturday afternoon be great to see good numbers down once again supporting the lads.

We Go Again.
