Delighted with the win today beating a spirited Eccleshall side 6-0 to make it eight wins on the spin in all competitions.
Fist half both sides struggled to get a foothold on the game and even though we had moments of quality we was disappointed with the basics we was getting wrong.
It wasn’t until the 30th minute we got the lead and it was Luke Duffy who got his first of the day after Ste Milne seen his cross tipped into Duffy’s path.
Two quality Josh Liversedge saves made sure the lads went in to the half time break with the slim lead.
Second half we looked more like our usual self with some swagger coming back into our football but still Eccleshall were in the game until the 58th minute when Jamie Henders fed Mitchell Culshaw who took it on the keeper and slotted with ease.
A absolute majestic strike followed that with the returning Conor Roberts hitting a unstoppable strike into the top bin after being laid on by Liam Morris (A absolute gem of a strike).
Luke Duffy got his second of the game and it was another cracker with Jamie Henders sending a delightful ball down the channel Duffy done what he does best and jinked inside and sent one into the far corner (A well worked goal).
Number five quickly followed with Liam Morris getting in on the act with the impressive Jamie Henders providing his hat trick of assists.
Right on the referees whistle Luke Duffy wrapped up the game and it was another piece of magic from his boots as he rifled a finish in the top bin with those behind it saying how good it looked as it hit the stanch.
Another pleasing win with us not at our very best and with another clean sheet we have to be happy going into the hat for the next round when we will face either Garstang or FC Oswestry Away.
MOM vote today went to Luke Duffy who to be fair wasn’t at his very best also but came up with some moments of individual brilliance and shows exactly what he got on them boots of his.
A mention for Jamie Henders,Ricky Ager and Josh Livo who were all contenders for there performances also.
Thanks to all those who could make it today disappointingly our smallest gate of the season thus far but still we will have days like this as we look to keep growing a local regular fanbase.
Up next it’s another cracking cup tie as we go back to Charnock Richard in the FA Vase looking to come away with the win this time as we look to go further in the Vase than last time out.
