Vauxalls Drive Home Empty Handed...

A good 6-2 win today at home to the South division league leaders Vauxhall Motors.

Vauxhall started the game with ten men behind the ball looking to catch us on the break and had two half chances from outside the box in the opening exchanges.

We started to look more threatening and it wasn’t long before we took control of the game with a three well worked goals.

The first came after some quality wing play from Mitchell Culshaw who jinked his way inside the box and and after dropping the shoulder he fired over a ball for Mick Douglas who powered a header home from close range.

It was roles reversed for the second with Mick turning provider and Mitchell once again driving into the box and smashing home a cracking finish after giving the keeper the eye.

On the stroke of half time Mick Douglas got his second and it was Luke Duffy with the assist after beating his man with ease he found Mick on the edge of the six yard box for a simple tap in.

HT 3-0

A great first half was followed by a shambolic twenty minutes with us conceding two in a matter of minutes the first lads not being alive to a little flick and the ball was worked well across the box for a tap in and the second a keeper mistake with Josh punching one in too his own net from a corner.

Backs to the wall for the next ten minutes but credit too the lads who dug deep to get themselves out of the fight they had put themselves in and they once again took the game away from Motors.

Ste Milne grabbing the fourth from the pen spot after being fouled (taking the pen against the instructions of the gaffer £5 fine).

Number five was a absolute gem with Mitchell Culshaw lobbing the keeper from 50+ yards out a stunning strike simple as that.

Not to be outdone Jaime Henders then decided to get in on the act with a strike from 35 yards out and another stunning hit it was Luke Duffy laying it on for Hendo.

FT 6-2

In truth not at our best today and had a very poor 20 minutes but we got the job done with some absolute cracking goals scored in-front of another decent Breck crowd (we thank you all as always) and we go into the hat for the next round.

We had a few contenders for MOM today but Ricky Ager got the vote for another massive performance at the back and once again showing why he the best about.

Tom Kinsella Liam Morris Mick Dougie and Mitchell Culshaw all putting in big shifts also.

Next up is a midweek away day at AFC Darwen this Wednesday as we get back to league action.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck.
