6-1 win for the Breck against Alumni last night up on a freezing JMO Sports Park.
Alumni started the brighter of the two sides with our passing not being as sharp as it should be and it was Alumni who got a deserved lead after gaining confidence from our slow start.
Near instantly we grabbed a goal back with Brodie Kearns working well out wide and getting us the equaliser before Paul Mooney turned the game right around with our second after two unbelievable saves from the Alumni keeper Moo pounced on the rebound and slotted it home.
Jamie Henders then grabbed our third towards the end of the half with Peter Donnelly providing the assist.
HT 3-1
Second half it was all Breck and we grabbed a fourth with Marc Stephens scoring from close range after a few ricochets the keeper couldn’t deal with Marc’s close range effort.
It was then left for Peter Donnelly to get in on the act grabbing out 5th & 6th goals.
The first another one of his classy finishes this one being another cheeky lob over the keeper Jay Colbeck supplying the assist and the final goal of the game seen him link up with Tom Kinsella and Peter slotted it home to finish the game off.
FT 6-1
Not at our fluent best tonight but another job done and another massive 3 points that see’s us go top of the league with points & games in hand in our favour it’s now all about staying there.
Man Of Match went to Jay Colbeck who played some quality football in the middle of the park his one touch football and range of passing being top draw tonight.
Up next it’s a tasty one as we face Nalgo at home this Saturday.
We Go Again.
