A emphatic win for the lads tonight thumping Byrom 12-1 in the LCFA County Cup.
Not a game you should need any encouragement to get up for and the lads were right up for getting the job done tonight.
Started of a little slow but you could see it was only a matter of time before we would click and it was the opener from Peter Donnelly that got us in the mood for more with the impressive Tom Kinsella providing his first of four assists.
That was followed by a quick fire brace from Jamie Henders with Ben Garrity & Marc Stephens providing the assists.
Paul Mooney was on hand with the fourth and it was another well worked team move that Tom Kinsella delivered for Moo to stroke home.
Number five seen Jamie Henders wrap up his hat trick and it was Tom Kinsella’s deliver that put it on a plate for Jamie to strike it home.
HT 0-5
Jamie Henders got the second half of to a flyer drilling in a unstoppable freekick into the roof of the net from all of 25 yards out.
It was then Peter Donnelly and Michael Darcy who helped each other out for the next three goals with both getting amongst the goals and providing for each other Peter wrapping up hid hat trick in the process.
Ben Garrity then got himself amongst the goals with a well taken finish after a sweet Paul Mooney assist.
The impressive Marc Stephens then started and finished a move with Louis Austin delivering the final ball for Marc to put away.
It was left for Michael Darcy to finish the game well and truly off with Tom Kinsella delivering the final assist of the night.
Credit to the lads for sticking to the task and punishing a struggling Byrom side who deserve credit for keeping going on the night but once again credit to my lads in securing our first County Cup Final in open age football.
Man Of The Match went to Jamie Henders not only for his four goals but his workrate was quality once again from the front.
Marc Stephens Tom Kinsella & Ben Garrity’s were also worthy of a mention also.
No game for us Saturday but we’re back at it Tuesday night when we face MSB Woolton up on Wally Hall Park.
Hopefully see a few more faces there instead of staying indoors for a boring 0-0 draw.
We Go Again.
