Another quality win for the Breck today beating Southport Hesketh 5-2 in the LCFA County Cup.
Cagey game for the opening 20 minutes but once we settled and got our fluent passing game going there was only going to be one winner.
Our first goal coming after a lay off from Peter Donnelly was drilled away hard and low by Paul Mooney from just outside the box.
The second quickly followed and it was a rare right footed gem from Tom Kinsella who floated one over the head of the stranded keeper.
A cracking team goal for our third with the ball being moved from left to right and then with some quick one touch passing on the edge of the box it was Jay Colbeck with the final ball too put on a plate for Brodie Kearns too finish of a quality move.
HT 3-0
2nd half started just like the first with a cagey opening five minutes before we once again started to dominate the passing & possession.
Our fourth goal today see a absolute majestic finish from Peter Donnelly.
Josh Molloy sending a long goal kick into the clouds and with Peter timing his run to perfection ran on to it taking it outta the sky with a stunning touch and lobbed it over the advancing keeper a classy classy finish from the Don.
The fifty followed and it was Peter turning provider putting it out wide for Brodie Kearns who come inside and bent it into the far corner for his second of the game.
After a raft of changes from both sides our opponents took advantage of the changes and got themselves two quick fire goals back before we hit the bar & post with quality efforts.
It was too little too late for Hesketh and another well deserved win for the Breck lads gets us into the hat for the Quarter Final Draw.
Once again the lads step up to the plate with a great performance which now takes us too 43 wins from last 45 games (losing only one cup game) a unbelievable stat for a side at any level????
Man Of Match vote today went to Marc Stephens a solid and wise performance in the centre of the park ????
Up next it's the Byrom at home which is always a game both sides like too get up for.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck...
