Another great win for the lads today beating a good young Custys side 6-2 up on a shocking flinders street pitch.
Custys started the brighter of the sides and took the game too us but it was us who took the lead from the penalty spot with Paul Mooney dispatching the kick.
Custys grabbed a deserved equaliser with lads stopping once again for a close offside decision instead of playing for the whistle (schoolboy again).
Just before the half time whistle came we seen a absolute gem from the wand of Paul Mooney who after a lay off from Peter Donnelly drilled a first time outside of the boot top corner rasping finish (up there with the best I’ve seen from moo and there been a few) ??
HT 1-2
Not long after the restart it was Custys who got the next goal once again slackness on our behalf gifting Custys the opportunity.
We went again and we soon started to take more control of the game and it was another cracking Paul Mooney strike that got us another lead.
Our fourth came via a set piece with a peach of delivery from Tom Kinsella being knocked home by Luke Stephens who made up for his earlier shocker from yards out ?
The fifth swiftly followed and it was Luke who turned provider for his brother Marc with Luke flicking it on for Marc who sent home a acrobatic overhead kick (and with his left foot).
Our sixth and final goal seen “superstar” Paul Mooney silence the poor jibe of the day by drilling home a freekick from 25 yards out capping a quality performance with that left peg of his ????
FT 2-6
So another job done and another tricky encounter on a awful pitch is outta the way.
Man Of The Match went to Paul Mooney as said his left peg was on fire today and the second strike was a sheer beauty and the other three strikes were all outta the top draw also.????
Up next a massive County Cup Semi Final when we face Byrom Away.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck...
