Another cracking win for the Breck lads today beating Quarry Bank 6-0 at there place.
First half was good old tussel with the boggy pitch not helping the quality of football but both sides were still creating chances Quarry forcing a great save from Josh Molloy midway through the half and ourselves having two great chances just before the half time whistle.
HT 0-0
Second half the Breck started how we had finished the first and it wasn’t long before the floodgates opened.
Our first coming from the penalty spot after Brodie Kearns was brought down Paul Mooney stepped up and dispatched the resulting kick and it wasn’t long before he followed that up with a trademark freekick from just outside the box to make it 2-0.
Moonshine completed a quick fire hat trick with a absolute gem of a finish after the Quarry keeper had made a great save the ball fell too Paul and with a good few bodies blocking his way he floated over a cheeky chip straight into the top left corner he couldn’t have placed it any better ??
Not finished there he grabbed his fourth after Marc Stephens touched a ball on too him Moo tucked it away with ease.
It was then the turn of Peter Donnelly too get amongst the goals his first one a cracking near post finish after some good work from Michael Darcy and the sixth and finally goal seen Peter slot home his second after a lay off from Paul Mooney.
FT 0-6
Another great win against the previously unbeaten Quarry lads and especially after they had beaten a prem team in the last round they was right up for another upset today there only issue today was lack of discipline when the going got tough losing two men (something we went through a few years back) as they said themselves today was a eye opener in that respect.
Once again though it’s all credit to my lads for stepping up and taking the game away in the second half putting in another big shift all over.
Man Of Match there can only be one with Paul Mooney putting in another massive performance scoring another few gems in the process ???? Also a mention for Riki Agar also who was solid and vocal in the first 45 minutes when we wasn’t playing the way we should be.
It’s back to league action next week when we face Woolton up on St John Bosco.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck...
