A cracking win for the Breck today beating Waterloo Dock 2-1 in a very good tussle from start to finish.
Controlled the first 25 minutes playing some good football and was only being denied by some great keeping and the woodwork which Peter Donnelly hit with a great strike.
The Dock then had a good 10 minute spell without really testing our keeper but they was having some decent possession and getting themselves right into the game.
HT 0-0
After a good chat at half time the lads responded and got the opening goal soon after the restart.
With quick thrown in on the left hand side being taken Peter Donnelly found his strike partner Jamie Henders and It was put away from close range.
The Dock got right back into the game within a matter of minutes after a bit of fortuitous luck with there forwards shot saved well by Josh Molloy the ball ricocheted of the back of the defender and into the net.
The lads dig deep though and got what turned out to be the winning goal within a matter of minutes.
Brodie Kearns whipping in a cracking ball with his left peg and the goal machine Peter Donnelly was on hand too head home another cracker from the Don.
The game then turned out too be a battle all over the pitch and if we had a bit more composure we could have killed it of but it was a few last ditch blocks that helped us see the game out and the lads came away with a deserved win (which the neutrals agreed).
FT 1-2
Today was a must win for us with the Dock winning there opening four games it was imperative we made the ground back up on them especially with other title contenders dropping points over the last few weeks.
Man Of The Match today was the returning Joe Brookes who set the tone with some heavy tackles whilst putting in a big shift also.
Next up is another massive game against current league champions APH when another positive result is a must if we're to keep the pressure on up at the top at this early stage of the season.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck...
