A comfortable 8-1 win for the Breck lads at home to Alder today in a game we dominated from the first minute.

Got of to a cracking start with Louis Austin tapping home a Peter Donnelly cross after some great work from himself and Brodie Kearns.

Our second was a gem and it was Peter Donnelly who bagged it with a cheeky lob over the keeper with Brodie Kearns the provider.

Goal number three came via the penalty spot with Paul Mooney stepping up and dispatching it.

Number Four seen Peter get his 2nd of the game with the classy Franny Smith laying on the assist.

Our fifth was tapped away by Franny after some unselfish play from Ben Garrity.

Our sixth of the first half onslaught seen Peter Donnelly wrap up his hat trick with Franny Smith the provider once again.

It was Alder who got the first goal of the second half and then they followed that with little ten minute spell were they tried there best to give the game a go but it was already over as a contest before we got our seventh & eight goals of the game.

Number seven came from Franny Smith after some great link up play between himself & Jamie Henders, Franny took it in on the keeper and put away a classy little finish.

It was Jamie Henders who wrapped the game up with the 8th goal coming of the bench for a late cameo (after a recent illness).

Lads done what was asked of them today and coming of the back of below par performance by our standards in our season opener it was good to see us back to our very sharp best with the ball.

It was also pleasing to see 18 lads available and everyone of them pushing for a shirt and credit to the lads who didn't get on today not a murmur from any of them ??

MOM went to Peter Donnelly whom first half was unplayable and a joy too watch also a mention for Franny Smith who was a class act also today ????

Up next for the Breck we travel to play Alumni next Saturday in a 1pm Kick Off up on Wavertree Sports Park.

Our reserves also start there league campaign in division one going in on the back of a cracking pre season ??
