A more than comfortable 6-0 win today away at Edge Hill played on a atrocious surface.
Despite the pitch being a shocker the lads did try to play football on it but it was a day when it needed mixing up also.
Had plenty of chances early on Peter Donnelly & Jay Colbeck being denied by great saves and we also had two goals disallowed one a absolute barn stormer from Jay Colbeck.
Thirty minutes in we got the breakthrough we needed to settle any slight nerves we had of there being a cup upset.
Peter Donnelly heading home from close range after a great ball from Tom Kinsella.
Peter added a second header soon after in similar circumstances with Brodie Kearns this time the provider.
HT 0-2
The second half was quite flat too start with the pitch getting more and more cut up but the lads stuck to it and the football got better as the half wore on.
Our third goal come from the penalty spot and up stepped Jay Colbeck to dispatch the kick.
Then a seven minute salvo from Jamie Henders put the game well and truly to bed.
Jamie getting a quick fire hat trick assisted by Ben Garrity for two of the goals (With Jamie's second being a delightful finish looping one over the keeper.
FT 0-6
A day when all that mattered was the win to get us into another semi final and the lads come away with there third six nil victory on the spin.
We now face Sailsbury Athletic in the semi final after they shocked Waterloo Dock 3-2 in the other quarter final.
Man Of Match vote today went to Ben Garrity who was back to his driving best in the heart of midfield but a mention also to Jay Colbeck who was classy with the ball at his feet on a tricky surface.
Up next it's another massive league game as we face Waterloo Dock up on the LCFA main grass pitch for a game being officiated by the Irish FA officials when only a win will keep both sides in the title race.
We Will Go Again.
