Another cracking win today in what was a cracking cup tie from start to finish away at Marshalls (West Cheshire) with us coming away with the 5-4 win.

Should have been 2 up early on but for the body of the Marshalls keeper keeping us out but it wasn't long for that too change.

Peter Donnelly tapping home after a whipped in ball found its way too his feet for a simple tap in.

Marshalls then had a good go at us hitting the bar in the process.

HT 1-0

We started the second half well but it was our hosts who got the the first goal of the half after a scrambled goal found its way in.

We bounced straight back and we're awarded a penalty with Peter Donnelly being brought down and Jay Colbeck on hand to put it away.

With Marshalls pushing hard we made two subs and it had the desired effect with both linking up for the 3rd goal Jeff King whipping a ball in for Chrissy Mcgann to knock home.

3-1 and looking like it was game over we had a moment of madness in our box when a task challenge resulted in a penalty which was dispatched home and soon after with momentum well and truly swung Marshalls got a deserved equalizer to take the game to extra time.

FT 3-3

It was Marshalls who started it the better and went ahead with a great lob from there handful of a front man leaving josh with no chance.

ETHT 4-3

With a few words at the break when the lads fight was questioned they went out and answered it just the way we had hoped.

Chrissy Mcgann getting us equaliser assisted by the head of Peter Donnelly after great work from Jeff King and then the all important winner.

Peter Donnelly creating space inside a crowded box delivered a great ball for Chrissy Mcgann to knock home his hat trick after coming of the bench #Scenes

With five minutes remaining Marshalls pushed hard and they had a extra incentive with us being reduced to ten men after a rash challenge just outside the box.

We seen out the pressure that came and got ourselves into the hat for the 3rd round draw.

A classic cup tie that had it all.

Credit to Marshalls who put in a massive performance themselves in a game played in the correct manner and spirit.

And credit for to our lads for coming through a tough cup tie whilst not playing are best showing the fight is there when backs goes to the wall.

Man of the Match Peter Donnelly showing there is more to his game than just goals...A great performance.

Up next it's league action as we play East Villa away next Saturday.

We go again.

Up The Breck...
