After a very cagey opener with tackles flying about we had a goal disallowed early on when a player was adjudged to have gone early from a whipped in Freekick.

The opener came not long after and it was last seasons leading goalscorer Jay Colbeck who sent a looping finish into the top corner after a great whipped in ball from Franny Foy.

Half Time 1-0

Second half started flat with both sides not coming out of the blocks like we would have wanted.

We them had 2 great chances with new signing Peter Donnelly hitting the inside of the post.

It was Peter who had the next chance rounding the keeper but seeing his left footed effort cleared of the line with a great last ditch challenge.

The game was to swing in Warbreck's favour just after when a last ditch challenge was won in our box and with the ball moving towards the safe arms of the keeper the Warbreck 9 was adjudged to have been took out in the sandwich of two defenders (the resulting penalty was slotted easy).

We then killed ourselves even more when we gave up possession on the halfway after committing bodies forward in a attack and the resulting counter attack seen a great strike finished off.

2-1

We had 20 minutes to salvage something from the game and we huffed and puffed without threatening too much until the last minute.

A delicious ball from another new signing Jamie Henders found John Murphy who nodded home from 5 yards out to give the lads a more then deserved point to start our new campaign.

Not are best performance and we feel we was still good enough value to get all 3 points today but we will accept a point due to the equalizer coming so late on.

Man Of The Match went to Jack McCarthy who put in a solid performance at the back.

We now move on to next week's big fixture when we face Waterloo Dock up on ASC3G.
