Vase Removal...

Following on from a charge of playing an ineligible player in Saturdays 5-0 FA Vase win over Swallownest, Lower Breck FC have been removed from the competition after an FA Personal Hearing today.

Swallownest FC are now reinstated and will play in the next round of the competition.

As Secretary I take full responsibility for this happening and the mitigation plea was primarily around my failure to communicate the rules concerning the non-eligibility of short-term loan players to the Manager, one of whom was brought on as a substitute with 10 minutes remaining in the match, with us 4-0 up.

Had I checked page 12 of the 26 page document in the email with 6 attachments I would have known this. Unfortunately life got in the way and I neglected to pass this detail on to the Gaffer who no doubt would have acted upon this information had he known.

I attempted to explain this and other factors around why this had happened to the panel today, however the decision to remove us from the competition was made quicker than it would have taken to type up a document advising us such, and this is another lesson learnt on my behalf too.

I unreservedly apologize to the management team, the fans but especially the players who did their job on the day. I will try and do mine to the best of my ability for the remainder of the season but it is a bitter pill to swallow for all concerned.

We all make mistakes, I will reflect on mine and hopefully learn something from them.

Best of luck to Swallownest FC on their second bite of the cherry.

James Davies - Lower Breck Club Secretary.
