ANOTHER GAME TAKEN AWAY

A tough one to take last night going down 1-0 away at Cheadle to a 96th minute penalty and a shocker it was.

Game had very little quality throughout with both teams losing there ways in the final third but gotta be said it’s hard to play football on pitches when each pass is taking numerous bobbles to feet.

Cheadle forced Theo into a cracking save from an acrobatic effort midway through the first half and that was the best moment of the first 45.
We played the last ten minutes of the half with ten men as Tom Mitchell was sin binned for questioning a linesman’s call and while he wrongly swore in his direction we had seen a Cheadle player tell the man in the middle too F off from ten yards twice in the half but that went unpunished, gotta have consistency in them calls.

Three forced substitutions through injury in the second didn’t stop us gaining the upper hand and for half a hour there looked like only one winner as we hit the post twice and played the game in the Cheadle half but unforced errors was costing us in the vital moment.

With the game looking like a nailed on draw a poor decision from the match official gave Cheadle a penalty.

Connor Millo heading a ball back to Theo in goal and with the ball way wide of his box heading for a corner Theo came out made a great tackle with his feet and cleared the ball, the referee took a few moments before deciding to give a pen.

The linesman offered his advice of no penalty but it fell on deaf ears and the referee said he won the ball but it was a strong tackle hence the awarding of the penalty which was dispatched.

They say it evens itself out over a season and if thats the case we should be getting some big calls in the next four games cos we’ve had some shockers given against us this season and whilst mistakes happen it’s hard to take when to lose games on the back of them.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Tom Mitchell who despite his soft sin bin was solid throughout and done his best to drag us through the tougher moments in the game.
