Red Card Changes The Game...

A disappointing defeat last night, beaten 3-1 away at Litherland Remyca with a sending off costing us the game.

We grabbed the opener inside ten minutes after some great hold up play from Lewis Buckley seen him float a ball down the left for Jay Salkeld, who unselfishly put it on a plate for Tom Douglas to grab his first Breck goal.

Remmy instantly grew into the game with delivery from set pieces seeing them go close on a few occasions.

There equaliser came after a first time touch in midfield fell to a red shirt and with a ball down the channel feeding the impressive number nine, he drove into the box and hit a cracking finish into the roof of the net aided by a slight deflection, disappointing for us that footage suggests he was offside but missed by the linesman.

Not much of note for the remainder of the half, both teams trying to get a grip on a pitch not good enough for decent football.

HT 1-1

Second half we came out and was quality for 25 minutes with Remmy camped in there half and us dominating possession with 2/3 chances being blasted over, Bucko also having a great opportunity but couldn’t get a shot off under heavy pressure that could have easily brought a penalty.

The turning point came after reckless tackle from Paul Mooney, not taking anything of the man or the ball but his lunge was enough for a red to be produced and no complaints from me.

Remmy had ther backs up and after a soft free kick was given away on the edge of our box it was was sent home aided by a heavy muddy bobble over Theo.

We pushed for a equaliser with Lewis Buckley having a cracking effort and Cameron Rooney having a chance but it wasn’t to be and we conceded late on from a corner which was too easy.

FT 1-3

Hard of me to be critical of the lads in terms of performance especially on a pitch that for me wasn’t playable but to be fair both teams gave it a go and for large parts we played some good football on it.

Only disappointing factors is the manner of the goals we gave away and then the red card/rush of blood from Moonshine.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Theo Robert’s who made 2/3 excellent saves to keep us in the game as it opened up.

As always massive thanks to those in attendance your support is always greatly appreciated and we hope to see you all at Skem United on Saturday as we look to bounce straight back.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…❤️
