Another very good performance last night ,but another late goal costing us all three points in a game we mostly dominated.
The game got off to a fast start and we was straight on the front foot and when Walshy was taken out by the Isle Of Man keeper outside the box our opponents should have been reduced to ten men but only a yellow was issued (the tackle forcing Walshy off with injury minutes later).
Our good start got even better when Paul Mooney lobbed the Isle Of Man keeper from 55-60 yards out, an outrageous finish but nothing out of the ordinary for all who no Moonshine.
For the rest of the half we was playing some great football and really should have got a second when Jordan Shannon somehow put one wide from four yards out.
A good half in all areas though.
HT 1-0
Second half more of the same but once again we didn’t punish the Isle Of Man and when we had the numerical advantage due to a sin bin (just like Saturday) we didn’t use it well enough.
After out opponents got back to 11 men we kicked on again but some big moments went begging once again and our lack of composure in the final third was seeing them moments break down to easy.
The IOM keeper pulled out a top draw save to keep them in the game going into the final moments and back into the game they came and when Paul Mooney sold himself trying to pinch a ball in the far corner the number 9 advanced too easy into the box and he gave a cut back for a close range finish (how many of them we have seen this campaign its crazy).
A great chance to win it came our way when Shay had a glorious header from close enough range but he could only glance it wide.
FT 1-1
Another game we deserve all three points from but a mistake proves costly but we have to punish teams off and give ourselves a bigger winning margin to take into those final minutes when we’re currently leaking goals, over 30 points lost from winning positions.
All that said we was good again last night and played some really good football also.
Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Connor Millington who was in faces, breaking up the play and getting us moving on the ball.
Thanks to all those who came to watch the game in horrible weather conditions yet again, your support is very much appreciated.
Away to Glossop tomorrow let’s hope we can turn this recent run of league draws into a much needed winning one.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck.
